Park Hall 126

In this course we will use the literary works of Jane Austen to explore the history and culture of Georgian England. Austen’s texts will offer starting points for our deeper inquiry into the complex social, political, and economic structures that have come to define our understanding of the Regency period in British history. We will supplement our readings of Austen’s novels with both historical and contemporary contextual materials to better understand her world.
