Literature and Childhood is a survey of literature in English that represents children and childhood. This section of Literature and Childhood will focus primarily on texts written for children, though we may consider some texts composed for adults featuring prominent representations of children and childhood. Our theme this semester will be "Teen Romance Across the Centuries," and we'll be looking at a survey of romance novels for young adults beginning in the early eighteenth century and ending with recent works of YA romance by authors like Renee Watson and Adam Silvera.
