Description
This split-level English class investigates three plays (Romeo and Juliet, Hamlet, and The Tempest) in depth through media history and in particular through the media of page, stage, and screen.
Material
Print: Students will need copies of the ARDEN THIRD SERIES Romeo and Juliet, which includes both FIRST QUARTO and FOLIO editions; the ARDEN THIRD SERIES Hamlet edition of the SECOND QUARTO and the ARDEN THIRD SERIES Hamlet edition of the FIRST QUARTO; and the FOLGER SHAKESPEARE edition of The Tempest, which exists only FOLIO copy.
Screen: Students will need access to streaming services such as Amazon Prime in order to view films and filmed performances
Stage: Students will need to plan to get to Atlanta for live performances at the Shakespeare Tavern and elsewhere.
