Although Mark Twain is most well known for Adventures of Huckleberry Finn (1885), he had a long and prolific career that spanned nearly half a century. This course explores the full range of Twain’s fiction and non-fiction, approaching him as a writer, artist, and philosopher. We will explore how his style and ideas evolved throughout his life, and we will consider how his works reflect on a range of questions about language, history, and human nature.
