Readings in Aesthetics & Poetics: In this course we will read a variety of texts that offer theorizations of art and art practice with a special focus on the practice of writing. Readings will include canonical works from Aristotle to the Romantic period, as well as twentieth and twenty-first century interventions. Readings will be of relevance to writers of both poetry and prose. The Final project will ask seminar participants to theorize their own practice in light of the semester's readings.
