ENGL3800W: Intro Creative Writ (17214)

Krewer, Kara

T 2 :20 PM

Park Hall 61

In this course we will WRITE. We will WRITE fiction, poetry, and non-fiction. We’ll also read because READING IS WRITING that OTHER PEOPLE HAVE DONE and a good way to LEARN HOW TO DO SOMETHING is to LOOK at how other people have done that thing-- are doing that thing. We’ll read writing by our classmates, writing that we will talk about together to help each other figure out what the HECK we are DOING and HOW WE WANT TO DO IT and HOW WE MIGHT DO WHAT WE WANT IN WRITING BETTER. And we’ll read books written by people who ARE ALIVE AND WRITING, some books by people WHO YOU’LL SEE AROUND PARK HALL, some books by people WHO WILL BE VISITING CAMPUS (you’ll get to HEAR them read too!) and some books by PEOPLE WE CAN NEVER MEET. By the END OF THE SEMESTER we’ll have done a lot of WRITING and read a lot of WRITING and have a BETTER IDEA of how we might WANT TO KEEP WRITING in OUR LIVES.
