Poetry writing studio:
This class reimagines the POETRY WRITING WORKSHOP. Instead of being a space in which we spend the majority of our class time commenting on each other’s POEMS as a large group, class-time will be divided among a variety of activities, including in-class writing, shop talk, small group workshop, field trips, and in-class ‘open mics’. This format allows us time for actual writing and discussions that full-time workshop often prevents. Our location on the art campus allows us the space to get messy (with collage and drawings etc.) and offers us easy access to the museum and firefly trail for writing ‘excursions’.
