This course is dedicated to the exploration of decolonization, racial and gendered identity, national belonging explored by British and Anglophone literature (literature written in English by authors from former colonies).  An underlying theme of our discussion will be the definition of “home;” we will address how these authors problematize the idea of home, both for the colonizer and the colonized, forcing them, at times, to become exiles in their places of birth.
